Narina Bailey’s Truly Precious Art has long been touching people’s hearts, while also healing her own along the way.
She began painting her whimsical, Pop-Surrealist style portraits of little girls to help deal with the pain and grief of losing a sister when she was young, and these memories of a childhood touched by sadness are reflected in the pretty characters she creates.

More recently, she began taking on commissioned portraits of people’s children and pets, often dealing with their own loss, and she loves nothing more than creating a beautiful, personalised keepsake that they can treasure forever.

Narina also has a special place in her heart for all animals, and many of her works depict the precious bond of unconditional love between a child and their pet.

Narina is self taught, paints in Acrylics, and has had numerous solo exhibitions in Auckland and Wellington since 2004.
Her work has regularly been selected for the NZ Art Show, and has also been exhibited at the Christchurch Art Show and Nelson Art Expo.

- I love nothing more than creating a customised piece of art that will be treasured forever.
- If you're able to provide photos of your child and/or pet, I will work from those to capture their likeness in my own style. However, I can also just do hair and eye colour to match if that's easier for you.
- You can provide as much input on colours, pose, background etc as you like. Its really cool to personalise the piece as much as possible.
- You could include a favourite toy, setting or item of clothing. maybe something to symbolise what they love to do. Or you can leave it up to me to come up with something awesome and unique just for you!
- I'll get your approval on the final sketch before I start painting and provide updates throughout the painting process, during which your feedback is welcome!

- Backgrounds
- Some of my works have wallpaper used as a background. If you like this option, the painting will cost a bit more as I tend to love very expensive ones!
- Timeframes
- Small pieces (500mm x 400mm) takes approximately 2 weeks & big pieces(700mm x 900mm) takes up to 4 weeks depending on how involved the piece is.
- Size & Prices
- As of February 2015 small pieces will start at $300 & Big pieces start at $600. Prices will vary depending on how involved the piece is, and if wallpaper is used.
- A non-refundable deposit of 20% will be requested on acceptance of the final sketch. This allows for the purchase of materials.
